I personally played it only with an xbox controller, it just comes more natural to me with those third person games.

well, i've just beat it with Keyboard and mouse, it works fine, clunky in some bits here and there but i couldn't find a way to rebind the buttons through the game, not sure but i believe you need to change the ini files to rebind the buttons, anyhow things you need to know these two moves as the game just shows controller buttons and don;t reference K/M:

Focus attack: E + F
Evade Attack: Hold Shift then E when enemy attacks to counter

seems fine with keyboard and mosue for me.

Hack&Slash games are always better with controller. But usually they work fine with Keyboard/Mouse aswell.
