i hate to burst your hopes, but the last productive thing Jon has done was Civ 5, back in 2010. He spent 7 years on this game only to abandon it unfinished and disappear. No updates have been done in 4 years and no new projects announced.

Funny thing about "wanting to" do something... if you make no further effort at doing that thing, or at least setting plans to get into position to do that thing, it's likely never going to happen. That goes double when it's a large project you have to re-immerse yourself in before you can make progress.

If, someday, he comes back to working on this game (as opposed to, say, starting from scratch to make the same sort of game using what he's learned in his other work in the intervening years), I'll happily give it another look... but I'm not holding my breath.

I hate how this game is so close to being fun but the bugs just break it every time. I can't get past 100 turns because the game just corrupts the save and tada progress lost. It didn't need further development for me to enjoy, just some stability.

Well he left paradox only after six months, after that they started to use his mechanics in their games, such as nesting menues etc.
