For example, the black bars appear on my widescreen monitor when I run the game with a VGA cable and 1024x768 resolution. When I switch to my HDMI cable and play the game in 1280x720 resolution, the game is full screen without the borders. It also looks amazing.
Try doing this simple process.
EDIT: I tried to set it to there but the closest I could get to it was 1280 x 1024 with the options it showed in the selection of resolutions in the menu, oh well. :<
Yea I have a video card that has a slot for an HDMI cord which I connect to my widescreen TV. This results in no bars and the full use of the screen with the settings I described earlier. If you've tried "everything" then maybe you need to do what I suggest...unless you have a better idea.
If you're bothered by the bars you should play it on a screen which aspect ratio is 16:9, not sure about 16:10 monitors though.
use specialk rename it dll to d3d9.dll and put it in the same folder as game exe when in game just hit alt+enter and the game will be fullscreen bar at all. Prior to this only mode I could get fullscreen and no side bars was 4096 x 2160 this was only that would eliminate those bars
