Serious question about Saltzpyre's pistols
Do members of the Temple of Sigmar just walk around the Old World each carrying dozens of pistoles? How does that make any sense?

Some witch hunters are known for carrying several pistols. Here it's more a video game mechanic than a realistic fact tho.

Witch Hunters are actually two halflings stacked on top of each other. The one on top handles all the shooting and fighting, the bottom one handles the walking and reloading. That's also why Saltzpyre's the tallest character.
Jokes aside, it's probably because Saltzpyre's a paranoid old nutbar, even by witch hunter standards. Also, what Torbaal said.

canonically, Saltzpyre carries nine flintlocks on him, not forty-whatever. but it's abstracted to make it worth having.

nine guns at all times is still a lot.

The funniest thing is that old Saltzy doesn't even bother reloading and just toss the guns away after he fires them. What a madman.

which was a thing back when flintlocks were the weapon of the day. you carried many, used your shot as needed, and tossed the excess weight after. there was simply no time to reload. others with less pistols would fire their shot, and then reverse the pistol and use the heavy butt as a club in one hand
