"Thank you for your interest. We currently look forward to a new patch release next month (or whenever)"? My typing skills really suck but I could type this out in under a minute.
For those of us who paid money for this game it does give us some right to expect just a little sharing of communication from the dev(s) about the games we are tying to enjoy. Just because it has a "under development" label does not excuse a lack of communication. From June to July of this year there were about 10 new patches/hotfixes showing a real commitment from the dev(s) to fix problems and increase player satisfaction with their game, but since July, nothing but silence? New bugs have made the game absolutely unplayable being more frustrating than enjoyable but still, nothing but silence. No acknowledgement of issues or any assurance that they are striving to fix them.
You may say, "just go to another game", but we didn't pay money for a game to be ignored, left out in the cold, and then to be told "just go to another game".
It's not like anyone wants less communication, but the point here is not that they are releasing something without communicating anything, it's they themselves don't know when the release is going to happen. This year Bery promised or estimated 2 deadlines that he completely blew past, which caused a ton of posts from people saying the game is abandoned, a cash grab and a ton of negative reviews. Then the patch happened and there was another ton of negative reviews because EA game has bugs! Who would've thought!?
Also, it is against the rules of Steam TOS for EA games to make some specific promises about game's features or release deadlines. It is also obvious that this small studio cannot, for one reason or another, currently make regular releases. It would cause another wave of "cashgrab abandoned game" and negative reviews if Bery just keeps posting "we are looking forward to the next release who knows when" or misses deadlines again.
And you are forgetting that you are not alone on the forum and on the discord. It also doesn't just "take a minute" to respond to social media. You have to stop your work and be constantly interrupted. It's a massive distraction. When there is something to announce, we all get the announcement.
Just accept that this game studio is not good at communicating and wait for the announcements. They seem to working properly on the game, so you will get your updates eventually. Perhaps at the anniversary of the game's initial release in December.
Simple official information that for example update is delayed becayse of xxx or yyy would be great.
5-10min to write per month is not a big thing and it helps to create a good reputation for game = more people buying your EA game.
Write that in 1-2month you are bringing new big update and if you cannot also write about it and reason.
Otherwise people will think is scam and it is reasonable.
There is a lot of EA games where people are happy and wait for update because they are informed.
EA game are supposed to be done together with players yet nowdays a lot of small studios just use this as excuse to get money ...
That is why i stopped buying and wait because i realised i have too much good potential games in EA ...
