When you're running the game on PC, you only have to delete the save and block Cloud Sync.

I deleted both files there and lauched the game and got the newgame option. I then re-enabled steam cloud, got the file conflict notice for steam cloud on the game's launch page, then selected the local save option so it overwrote my old save file with the fresh one.
I know this game is notorious for not having a way to easily delete saves, but I could have never imagined how much worse it could get on steam deck"

I should add that on my deck the directory 101092353 had a different name. But inside tha differently named directory was the 234080 folder, i just followed the instructions and it worked! Oh and since I'll only play it on steamdeck I didn't re-enable steam cloud for this game ;)
Thanks for this. Sorry for taking so long to reply. I will be honest I don't know where to access the files. Don't know where to search for them, don't know what to even open on my deck to find where to search for any files. But I appreciate you taking the time to reply. I'll just have to accept that I can't start the game again

Found out what to do. Just delete the castlevania.profile file.
DO NOT delete the castlevania.cfg file. ITs working fine for me now.
