Output log location:
- Windows: "Steam/steamapps/common/Distance/Distance_Data/output_log.txt"
- Mac: "/Users/[username]/Library/Logs/Unity/Player.log"
- Linux: "/home/[username]/.config/unity3d/Refract/Distance/Player.log"
Make sure the issue happened the last time you opened the game, since the log clears itself when you reopen it. Upload it anywhere you can (pastebin, google drive, etc.) and link to it in your thread, or upload it directly in the Discord server. If you look in the output log, located at:
"[SteamFolder]/steamapps/common/Distance/Distance_Data/output_log.txt"
And see a line similar to:
"IOException: Win32 IO returned 362. Path: C:\Users\USERNAME\OneDrive\Documents\My Games\Distance\Profiles\NAME.xml"
Then your Documents folder is being managed by OneDrive and the game can't read from its save folder. To remove your Documents folder from OneDrive, either:
"OUTPUTING STACK TRACE"
The next line after that will include:
"(LogitechSteeringWheel) LogiGetStateENGINES"
If you see the line about the wheel directly below the stack trace line in the output log, then one of your USB devices is being incorrectly detected as a wheel and the game is crashing trying to map controls to the "wheel" device.
To solve this, unplug USB devices to determine which one is being incorrectly detected. If this can't be done (such as on handheld PCs, where the built-in controller may get incorrectly detected), the game's wheel support can be removed:
Right-click Distance in Steam, go to Manage->Browse local files. Open the Distance_Data folder, then the Plugins folder. Delete or rename both the LogitechSteeringWheel.dll file, and the LogitechSteeringWheelEnginesWrapper.dll file.
