Steam > Settings > Controlller
There should also be a way you can "test" the controller in Steam settings, see if you can register device inputs through there.
If that's not working, I'd bet that a Windows update either broke something, or was installed incorrectly.
I'd also run an sfc /scannow (via command prompt as admin) on your PC, just for the sake of it. I had it fix an FPS bug with Cyberpunk 2077 when it released, so sometimes that does some magic.
