I've gotten this too. Make sure the discord app is open in the background with you logged in. It should redirect you to there and should work.

Would be wonderful if I could get a refund on this since I now have to have ANOTHER launcher to play it that was integrated after I bought the game.

Same. Bought it before they owned the game when we had it DRM free. They also, upon sale, removed all the old versions that were also entitled to. Lucky I kept a copy.
