This could also allow the Xbox version's cutscenes, as well as Next Encounter to get a PC release.
A Kex Revolution would be worse, because we have so many other versions of the game. How many more can we really stomach?
A typical Nightdive Studios release of a PC/console multiplatform is that they try to combine all versions of the game into one semi-cohesive experience. A backport of Legend of the Beast from HD to SD is also likely.
What I meant originally is that NE has nothing to do with TFE/TSE canon or style. It would make more sense to have a DooM 64 esque standalone remaster, if it ever happens.
What seems to be more likely (Croteam even upvoted this on the SS2 anniversary video) is a remaster of Fusion. My hope is that they will add the Bright Island campaign in there as well, hopefully in a slightly tweaked way that fixes some of the pacing issues it has.
