Thanks!
I have enjoyed playing No Creeps Were Harmed.
Tbh, there is a huge lack of quality TD games like Defense Grid with engaging upgrades, variety, synergy, long ranges, interesting routes, satisfying impact and no distracting gimmicks such as player character, "twists", etc...
Like, Kingdom Rush is a very well made game, but I get simply bored looking at those silly soldiers running between forts and controlling the heroes. I want an endless empire of towers, not that.
fair warning it will take hundreds of hours to max all research!
Defense grid was really the main source of inspiration.
A demo version is available.

I have really enjoyed Tau Cubis, its really a hidden gem of a defense grid like tower defense. This post is actually where I found out about it. For me it is closest thing I have found to defense grid and has very good replayability, fun to try out different pathings/tower combinations especially after unlocking other modes that allow all towers to be used, scoring/leaderboards are similar to defense grid. Definitely worth a buy.
