(I.e. look at the Windows machine directly, cursor == massive. Go to remote play settings on the Linux with identical desktop resolution/scaling on the same monitor, connect, look at the desktop, cursor == teeny weeny.)
I did try running winecfg, and saw the identical small cursor, which, if I changed the DPI settings, finally looked decent. But I can't seem to get that change to effect games themselves. This may be because I just don't know where to set it from
On Linux Mint, I can have a windowed game, and the cursor changes from large to small as I move it over the game and large again as I move it off the game. (A game with no cursor settings, that does not exhibit this behavior on Windows.)
Everything points to proton setting the cursor to some default small size.
