Bazzite locking 30hz refresh
Makes no sense, everything was fine before windows switch, now only on my main rig thats a 3070 it pulls this ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I suspect its driver Vsync that is causing the problem but not sure.

♥♥♥♥ is making Tekken 8 run like ♥♥♥♥. None of my other Bazzite machines have this problem. Wtf.

Worse part is I can't go into the Nvidia control panel and turn the ♥♥♥♥ off.

Help? Anyone? I don't want to leave Bazzite but this is absolute trash

UPDATE: You have to set HDMI settings on your TV from standard to enhanced. Solved 90% of the issues I was having

Good luck trying to fix an "unfixable" Linux hahahaha

How much time do you have bazzite, I guess you already have some first steps behind you. Maybe it's a good time to make a partition, for example 25GB, and install something like Mint as a trial?
It seems to me that walking with bazzite, the further you go, the deeper into darkness you get.
But it's your choice, let as know how it went.

♥♥♥♥ ♥ ♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ♥♥♥♥ ♥♥. :steammocking:

Go to display settings, try a different screen refresh rate and allow screen tearing in fullscreen mode (a.k.a. vsync off)

I am very thankful to have an AMD GPU.

Is your monitor running at 30hz as well or just the game locking itself to 30?

Monitor is running at 60 hz

so Apparently it does 60HZ for 1080p but not 3840 x 2160 and there are no resolutions between those two available.... WTF

I fixed it.
It's a Setting on the TV. I had to change from standard output to enhances.

Wayland or X11? X11 uses xrandr which is way more "picky" than whatever Wayland uses, when it comes to resolution+refresh rate!

PS: check your cables and also what HDMI/DP port your GPU and your monitor has... As I told you, xrandr is super "picky"; it DOES obey the standards!!!

From what I understand Bazzite fully switched to Wayland and there has been all kinds of Drama. Issue is fixed though. The TV its plugged into seems to have enhanced setting for HDMI that need to be turned on.

So it's good now.

Yeah, Linux is great until it's not, then it's a headache.

Good you got it figured out.

Bazzite is... eh, well, Bazzite. If it works for you, cool, but it wouldn't ever be a distro I use.

It's worth not switching to windows 11. I tolerated so much from Windows and they finally pushed me too far.

Emulation is a good enough work around.

What upsets me is is finding information is hard because of this totally artificial push for AI to be a thing. Where you used to be able to look up an answer easily, now you have answers and forums hidden from you.

I will say Bazzite was flawless on my laptops.
But.... there have been minor setbacks for my main rig.
Still worth it.
But I won't pretend there is 0 pain

Yeah, Windows 11 is trash. It’s part of the reason I’m on Linux.

I don’t think I’d ever use Bazzite though.

Bazzite’s whole vibe seems to appeal mostly to console players who happen to own a PC, but don’t understand how to use it.

The entire marketing campaign is “plug and play”, like it’s some kind of Mattel Intellivision distro.

I wanted to switch to learn Linux permanently, not just avoid Windows 11.

That’s just my opinion though. If it works for people and they’re happy; more power to them.

For the most part, Bazzite is plug and play. It's immutable though so if you need to make a permanent change just switch to Fedora.

Bazzite is my comfy distro. Works well, has everything I need preloaded with minimal problems. This is the first time I had a problem with Bazzite.

Glad the OP figured this out, but it's not an issue with Linux.

The same problem would have happened on Windows. The TV was set to a set of standards that only allow for a max of 4k/30hz.
Jinrum 11 月 22 日 下午 12:34
TVs for the longest time have had a special PC Mode or Enhanced Mode to adapt to show more supported Hz ranges / odd resolution options that are available when a PC is connected. Otherwise the TV will run with the default settings. Some newer TVs can detect when a computer is connected and automatically switch to PC mode (if available). Not a Linux issue but more of a TV manufacturer issue.
