It seems to me that walking with bazzite, the further you go, the deeper into darkness you get.
But it's your choice, let as know how it went.
Go to display settings, try a different screen refresh rate and allow screen tearing in fullscreen mode (a.k.a. vsync off)
Is your monitor running at 30hz as well or just the game locking itself to 30?
It's a Setting on the TV. I had to change from standard output to enhances.
Wayland or X11? X11 uses xrandr which is way more "picky" than whatever Wayland uses, when it comes to resolution+refresh rate!
PS: check your cables and also what HDMI/DP port your GPU and your monitor has... As I told you, xrandr is super "picky"; it DOES obey the standards!!!
So it's good now.
Good you got it figured out.
Bazzite is... eh, well, Bazzite. If it works for you, cool, but it wouldn't ever be a distro I use.
Emulation is a good enough work around.
What upsets me is is finding information is hard because of this totally artificial push for AI to be a thing. Where you used to be able to look up an answer easily, now you have answers and forums hidden from you.
I will say Bazzite was flawless on my laptops.
But.... there have been minor setbacks for my main rig.
Still worth it.
But I won't pretend there is 0 pain
I don’t think I’d ever use Bazzite though.
Bazzite’s whole vibe seems to appeal mostly to console players who happen to own a PC, but don’t understand how to use it.
The entire marketing campaign is “plug and play”, like it’s some kind of Mattel Intellivision distro.
I wanted to switch to learn Linux permanently, not just avoid Windows 11.
That’s just my opinion though. If it works for people and they’re happy; more power to them.
Bazzite is my comfy distro. Works well, has everything I need preloaded with minimal problems. This is the first time I had a problem with Bazzite.
The same problem would have happened on Windows. The TV was set to a set of standards that only allow for a max of 4k/30hz.
