You should always include a link to their profile since it's easy to change names on Steam. Take screenshots of a chat if the trade went bad and report the user. I also recommend using SteamRep.com to check for scammers before trading.

I would also have been cheated by the back then because at the time I also reported to Valve then he had a 1 week ban but that's all that happened, be careful and assume the scammers go away
