If the game freezes and does not allow you to play, I found some points that affect the hanging of the game:
1- in the game, when you are given an old watering can and a drawing on a quest, DO NOT STUDY the drawing,
2 - do not make rations, let your NPCS starve,
3 - DO NOT drag the NPCs to the beds on the island, and the beds themselves, too
4 - play at a speed no higher than x2.

I do not know what helped, but I played up to 73% without freezes and bugs and logged in again without problems, in my opinion this is a problem with rations, I used to craft them, they hung up and the NPCs when they ate also hung up, maybe it's them.
