Ive been trying to boot up the game but it just stays stuck on this screen and I cant play! Anyone else encountering this problem?

Sounds like an error in installing the required redistributable. You should be able to manually install it by going to \Steam\steamapps\common\Chronicle\Chronicle_Data\Redist and running vc_redist executable in that directory.

Same issue here. I ran the vc_redist and it gave me a new window with a loading bar which never moves, and the text "Processing: Initializing..." It hasn't budged in the past five minutes. Curious to try the game, but I can't get it to start.

I'm not entirely sure why the redist would fail to install like that, so am shooting in the dark a bit here. Do you have Visual C++ 2015 Redist 14.0.23918 listed as installed under Add / Remove Programs?

I'd say the immediate options would be to uninstall it and re-run the redist again from the Chronicle folder, or alternatively download it directly from Microsofts site.

If it keeps failing to install, it's worth checking the install log. You can find this by typing %temp% into your Start Menu, and searching for a Visual C++ 2015 setup log. With luck it should contain an error code to help determine the cause. It wouldn't surprise me if it contained either 0x80080005 or "0x80070005: Failed to open WU service", which basically means your computer does not have the required Windows Updates (either you have updates turned off, or the Windows Update service has been disabled).
