Singleplayer?
I found this game in my library, installed and found out they shut down the servers.
The game tells me it cannot reach the servers (well, obviously) but does not give me any options afterwards.
According to Steam game details the game also offers single player mode.

Is there a way to play this game at all?

The game is fully down. It needed access to servers to know what cards were in your collection. Only reason to leave it installed at this point is nostalgia. </3

What a shame that Jagex abandoned this game so quickly. I love Runescape, played it since 2.0 came out and Chronicle was genuinely my favourite multiplayer CCG ever. Such a rough, unknown and now lost and forgotten gem :'(

Jagex I want a full refund. Cant even play ace of spades without your servers. I paid for nothing. What a scam! Make so you dont need servers to create or join a match or give me my refund. Bait and switch.

Cant get a refund. Played over 2 hours . Now I cant play it at all. Someone needs to sue them for providing a game that doesn't work.
