i think it has something to do with openal32.dll not installing corectly. i clicked on the open al installer and then after i did that the game started.

I too am having this problem. I click play, and it just doesnt launch. Steam registers me being in game for like 1 second.

Try running Steam\steamapps\common\Infested Planet\_CommonRedist\OpenAL\2.0.7.0\oalinst.exe Apparently, it helps.

Also had this problem. The solution fixed it.

I have a problem where the game loads in but non of the menus are selectable. When I click the mouse the game just goes back to my dashboard. I can see the game icon in my user bar and can hear the music still playing. I have to close window to close down game and stop music. Everything was fine until I bought the dlc :( Now I cannot plat it anymore.

It is as if the screen res if off. If I move the icon up the screen I can highlight the Weekly challenge but that is the only one I can highlight.

Windows 8
GeForce GTX970
CPU i5 4670 3.40GHz
8gb ram
Screen res :- 1920x1080 60hertz

UPDATE :- I sloved the problem by cafefully hunting for the options window to light up by moving mouse around the screen. The screen res for game was set at 1900x900. Change it (again by hunting for the menu highlights on screen) to my above res... Problem now gone.

Good to hear that you solved it. Sorry - I was asleep when you posted.

If anybody else has resolution issues, you can reset the options by deleting pref.xml

It's in C:\Users\USERNAME\AppData\Local\Rocket Bear Games\Infested Planet
