Try deleting your save files located here:
...Steam\userdata\<steamID>\201420\
You will first need to turn off Steam Cloud for this game to prevent Steam from redownloading the "corrupted" save files. If you get the game running, you can then re-enable Steam Cloud.
Otherwise, "Verify Integrity of Game Files":

and did a clean install of the game.
Now stuck at this screen:

with controls still not working (as described above)
There is background music though and the two critters move around.
Never used overclocking settings.
