Some tips.
1. Look at the stats of units a lot more often. Especially those you aren't familiar with and even more when attacking a champion to see how much health it have left.
2. Read abilities of units more often.
3. You can scry with the shrine to draw more runes to hopefully draw better units.
4. Max ap of units is their SPD + 4.
5. When not doing anything than just moving with a champion, you don't need to spend their AP. Most players keep 4 AP on their units to maximize their AP every turn. Often better to have your opponent spend a lot of AP to come to you than you to spend a lot of AP to get to them.
6. Taking over a font is 3 spaces. You often was 4 spaces away.
7. Summoned units can't take over or contest fonts. Relics can contest fonts, but not take over.
8. Hover over the picture of champions to see their race.
9. Only cast a damage spell when it will kill something. It's often best to just the nora to deploy more champions.
Yeah, the stats and abilities of units is something I'd read more into but didn't want to spend on-camera time going through everything, thus I occasionally messed up because of it. Once I become more familiar with things at a glance that'll improve. Scrying...eh, I know it could be useful but I kind of prefer using what I have and keeping as much health on my shrine as possible, especially since my first PVP battle I did while working through the launchpad literally came down to a loss because they got too many hits in on my Shrine while fortification was on cooldown.
As for moving champions, often I like to move them a bit closer into combat range while still forcing the enemy to spend AP to get all the way to them. Believe it or not I'm actually more careful against live opponents just because I know that they are less predictable than the AI. And with the font...yeah, I may have derped with not getting close enough a couple times, and the summoned units thing really only hurt with Forsaken Wastes as I confuse which units are summoned and which are not as the skeletons all look similar. And yeaaaah...like I said when I did K'Thir Forest, I fell into the trap of overcasting and not getting enough units and died the first attempt, hah. But thank you otherwise!
