You should checkout the Pox Nora Troubleshooting tips on their forums http://forums.poxnora.com/index.php?threads/pc-troubleshooting.1487/
Tip #4 looks to be the first place to look.
"If after a patch the Pox Nora process closes upon hitting the "Play" button on the launcher. Uninstall the game and delete the Pox Nora folder in the directory that the game was installed. This would generally be found in c:/Program Files/Desert Owl Games."
For Steam go to your Steam Library and Right Click on Pox Nora and then select Delete Local Content. Then make sure you go to your steam directory and delete the Pox Nora folder if it is still there after selecting delete local content. It should be in c:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common.
Also, it is a good idea to make sure your video drivers are up to date.
