Both the Steam game client and the client download from PoxNora.com are virtually and are both running the same versions of the game.
The missing textures is a video issue and is likely cause by a out of date video card or video drivers.
The ability text is a known issue and we are working to address it when possible.
From the list of issues you are having it sounds like you might have a corrupted install. Try uninstalling the game, then delete the PoxNora install folder which should be found here: c:/Program Files/Steam/SteamApps/common/Pox Nora, then install the latest video drivers then reinstall the game. Make sure you restart your computer after you install the updated video drivers.
You can also contact customer support at support@desertowlgames.com if you continue to have problems.
One last question before i contact customer support. Could my issues coused by my os? i have windows 10, maybe thats what cousing the corrupt install? It is a really old game after all
We haven't had any problems with Windows 10 specifically. Generally when what you are describing happens it is related to the graphics card. Basically certain lower end graphics cards can't handle some of the newer map textures that are in the game so rather than the game crashing it just doesn't attempt to load the assets. This can also be caused by out of date video drivers. What GPU/Video Card do you have in your computer?
One thing to try, just in case, is to download the stand alone version of the game and see if you have the same problem. You will likely have the same problem, but if you don't then it points to this potentially being a different problem. https://www.poxnora.com/download.do;jsessionid=12E8B13EDF9DA0A3E5C0B0BD88296F6B
My graphic card is geforce gtx 770 2GB with up to date drivers, i wouldnt consider it a low end card but apparently has some issues

If that doesn't work try updating the video drivers for your integrated GPU.

Edit: found how to add ss
Thanks for all your help, too bad we couldnt figure out what the issue was.
Hmm, one thing to be aware about is that Windows 10 when it auto updates it will auto install the "latest" video drivers. The problem with that is it may actually over-wright the correct and most recent drivers released by the manufacturer. It could be possible that Win10 is over-writing you actual video drivers. It should still be a legitimate driver and work, but this could be a potential cause.
It does seem odd because I am using a GTX 760 and have no problems with the drivers. Something is definitely interfering with the game on your computer.
Pox Nora is self contained with it's own JAVA install, but it could be possible your native JAVA install is having a conflict with the game's version. Try updating the version of JAVA you have installed on your computer.
