you could also try teaming up with your friend to play a 2v2.... in battlegrounds click "group" then scroll to their name in the list and add them. from there the player who made the group can start/que a 2v2 game by clicking back out of the group (not leave) click "ranked game" then select 2v2 and start.
its best to talk to some players around your level / skill to do the 2v2.
use private purple chat or group people...
/tell playername message
/r message (to reply
matchmaking finds your opponents so you cant guarantee you will get the team you want, but if no one else is queing and both teams join around same time you can match.
