Yes, there is still an active community playing the game. Right now the population is a bit low due to being on the back half of an expansion cycle.

Same here. Somethings changed (mainly upgrades on champions) but really liking the less pay to win feel of game in single player campaigns (I don't PvP). For what is worthed, I generally see around 80 to 100 players reported as online ingame.

For me, I generally just grind for Nora Shards (probably a short while more) to use Rune Forge but it also gives around 10k gold so I also buy boxes that way.
