and generell this is also the place where you can "report bugs", or ask something to the few still existing players
and yes THIS GAME is all the pain worth you will have with it
its old but gold - and actually i have 2000hours on it, but i didnt played it for maybe one year
you better should only play it if you are willing to learn a lot, because the game has a fairly high learning curve , and nearly every player from the small community will punish or take advantage of every single mistake you will do
and finally, sometime it can happen that there may be long waiting times
when looking for a 1vs1
a good time to play it for someone in the european timezone is 6pm to 6am , or maybe weekends
and as a recommendation

the tutorial bug was reported months ago, and devs have done nothing to repair it.
and this is kind of a snowball kind of game, if you lose 2 o 3 creatures more than you opponent and a nora font, 99% probability that you already lost that game
this is one of the worlds greatest games, i installed it, played it for 3 minutes and uninstalled it.
sorry for late response...
I guess it depends on the opponents you get. Most players who play this game, are playing since several years, which means that they usually have a very very good knowledge of the different skills and spells, etc., and i think you will inevitably lose to most players if you allow yourself too many "mistakes".
I found it very frustrating myself, but if you don't let that put you off, sooner or later you will win and the first victories can be good, but do really good. Finally won against player xy.
I would not recommend doing it, but you can find out what kind of opponent you got there via the following link.
I would say players 1-100 or 1-200 forgive you very, very few mistakes, some of which do not forgive mistakes at all.
So you have to have a certain minimum knowledge of skills and magic etc. in order to be able to win at all.

There is also a search function for players, but I don't know whether you have to be logged in to do so.
