You could use console commands to skip that mission.or to drop it automagically.

I might just give that a try. Just don't want to be labeled as a cheater.

Just chiming in that the same thing happened to me; Heart never dropped, and wound up redoing the entire mine level all over again.

Then my save vanished. Starting over, seeing if it happens again. Because doing the same thing over and expecting a different result is the hallmark of sanity...

I'm necroing this and one other thread to post the solution that worked for me.

I killed the Alchemist twice and never got Ordrak's heart. So, I exited the game and reloaded it. I then went back to where the Alchemist had been killed. The dungeons were still cleared from when I killed him the previous time, but now Ordrak's heart was finally lying on the floor where he had died. (Yes, I did thoroughly search for it when I killed him both times, but it wasn't there until I restarted the game.)

He just doesn't have the heart to do it. Given some time and he'll warm up to letting go.
