When you create a room, it generates it's own walls. But if you want create hallways, maybe you should planify the building so you can put classes or other stuff around the hallway.

Changing the building type by building over existing rooms will replace the floor and wallpaper. But in the building menu, you can also opt for Interior, which will allow you to plant the flooring and wallpaper a different pattern.
