This assumes you already have the game installed and have already gotten to the page where it asks for your serial
- In your (windows) start menu (just press the windows key) type regedit (you need administrator perimissions to be able run the program)
- In the Registry Editor, Double Click HKEY_CURRENT_USER
- Then Double Click Software
- Then Double Click reality pump
- Then Double Click earth2160
- Then Right Click serialkey and click Delete
- Then Startup Earth2160 and enter in your product key when it asks you for it
- Then when it gives you a choice for activation, click Activate Via Internet
Then thats it, (well you have to enter in some information but you can just use false information considering they don't check this information).Oh, just a quick side-note, if you want to play multiplayer, the EARTHNET servers are down (or last time I checked they were down) so you have to use a VPN like Hamachi. If you would like me to make a detailed guide fo you then I will.
I have a feeling Steam is trying to sync some files or registry data, and it is breaking things. For example, I though normally 4:3 only was on by default, but in my registry it's off - and I've never had the game on this computer, nor have I gotten to any resolution settings.
Right click on the game in your library. Under "manage" it will show you the option "product key".
