No sound effects ?

Has anyone gotten this game to run recently?
I can get a background music to play but the game has no sound effects or
sound for dialog? I've disabled dolby and spatial sound effects and enhancements but still no sound? I've researched google and the only option i read was disabled 3d sound in regedit which I did to no avail? I can't think of anything left to try?

Your gamefiles are broken? 🤔 So clean your system from Earth and reinstall. You don't have it on steam? You need to install latest patch manually.

Maybe updating/ repair your directx? 😅

Thanks it worked.

I purchased the game from Gamersgate, and re installed it , but same problem.
I've had similar corrupt files problem from gamersgate once before, now I know not
to use gamersgate. Then I repurchased the game from gog, since I actually prefer
not having steam running in background which might slow down game performance.

Anyways gog version worked fine.
