I don't know how to feel about this. It's quite immersion breaking.
What can help you troubleshoot this is that all items were duplicated from the fortress Emma, which means that both of them had a map, a weapon and other items from the fortress.
Thanks for the report! I'll take a look and see what's going on there.
Did you go into the fortress basement, leave, and come back by any chance? (The way the randomizer campaign was scripted, I believe this would have added a second copy of Emma to your roster with her own distinct unique ID, which in turn would have bypassed the check for duplicative characters when it came time to add her back to the main roster.)
I might have.
Another option is that she was a thief, so I finished the battle inside within the starting turn, so if there are any operations done at the end of the first turn, they didn't happen.
Excellent. I am still curious what would have happened if I continued the mission without any Emma. Woz well in position to kill all enemies, but had no Emma to put next to a tent and I imagine the character wasn't required for following missions, so it would just not be up for picking?
Anyways, will try hardcode one more time.
It does happen still. I may have not paid attention, but after apple collecting quest, there is a shop, that's where I see dual Emma. One is lower level and I didn't deploy her last mission (apple collecting). Not sure how long she was there.
