Mouse controlled camera problem
Just recently I reinstalled SFM after my Windows 7 was deleted and a new one brought up. SFM was the second thing I installed after Steam itself, then I installed Portal 2 DLC for SFM, but thats not the case.

This will be hard to explain; When I use the camera it now acts like the mouse is a joystick. When I am not moving the mouse then the camera does just that... ...But when I move the mouse away from the center of the screen that camera moves but the camera's rotation speeds up the farther from the center of the screen the cursor is.

When I do this I end up spinning in circles without letting go of the left mouse button. I know that before this when I had my other Windows 7 if I were to click and drag the mouse along the screen the camera would rotate with it. If I stopped moving the mouse without letting go of the left mouse button then the screen would stop.

It used to be the camera would move if you moved the mouse, now SFM acts like the mouse is a joysitck as I have already established. I have sought out for help on OSFM but no one responded with a soloution. I have checked the Valve Developer Wiki but it only says how to move the camera. I even searched the Steam Support page but there wasn't a catagory for Source Filmmaker.

All I want to know is that if this is something I can fix through properties or is just a bug I'd REALLY like to know what I can do to fix it, as well as for anyone else how comes to this topic searching for a soloution to the same problem. (=)<-<

Try reinstalling or updating your mouse drivers. It sounds as if it's the mouse's problem, not SFM's. A similar thing happened to me when I was using my graphics tablet and played a Source game.

IIRC, this problem can be caused by certain background processes, like "game boosters" or the like.

But without knowing a lot more about your hardware and software, there's no way we can give you a specific answer.

my pc has Microsoft Windows 10 S Inside preview, 223 GB (there are 32) and 15.9 GB RAM. Please help!

I said "a lot more", not "a few basics".

This is likely a software conflict, so really we'd need to see a complete list of all the software running on your computer.

1) I am Italian and I am using translator XD 2) Do you have Skype or teamviewver or Anydesk?

So if this is the problem I had, press W,A,S,D,X or Z.

Sorry for the necro, but I pressed X and it just stopped. I mean like the keyboard button X. This has happened alot in my game (COUGH minecraft COUGH) I usually just press the button that usually would move my screen in that direction.

Nope, and sadly I got too much frustrated that I just moved recently to blender altogether, sorry

Btw I found the cause
I was accidentally pressing Alt before recording
I felt so dumb... :jarate:
