ARC Raiders
I wish they would advertise more so game would sell more....
Like maybe a commercial or something. I am hyped for the game and play all the play test. But, i know a lot of people who game and 50% of them ask what is Ark Raiders never heard of it.

Do these people play shooters or ever use social media? People are constantly still talking about this game.
There is not enough marketing, i think they relay mostly on server slam when big streamers will stream it.
Its very low on steam sales rn due to poor marketing and autumn sale but i believe most will buy the game around server slam and after
Apparently there was some marketing (ads) on Reddit, but other than that haven't heard of or seen any.
Extraction shooters aren't really "the thing" anymore - no amount of advertising is going to fix that. I was interested way back when it was first announced, then they changed it to an extraction shooter; I held my nose, tried the alpha and thought it sucked, so I have 0 interest in the game now. No amount of ads will change that.

The company has to decide how to budget for this mess of a project, and marketing ain't cheap. The only way the game can succeed is if it REALLY stands out in the now-saturated extraction shooter market - so they're likely putting their money into making sure the game is technically sound and can handle whatever players they DO get at launch. I wouldn't be surprised if they had a big marketing push in the last week before the game drops, but if they don't have hype now then they're not going to KEEP hype going for the rest of the month.

As long as the game A) doesn't immediately flop and B) has something unique/cool about it, it'll get free marketing from youtubers, forums, word of mouth etc. If it sucks as bad as it did during that first alpha, I can't imagine more marketing dollars would have saved it - PVP games in general and extraction shooters specifically are very hard to give broad appeal to, and they're clearly expecting/relying on money from the season pass type ♥♥♥♥ to continue funding the game. It'll be a balancing act.

Yeah good idea; a fun but informative commercial that would air during episodes of Law & Order and Shark Tank so that they can reach their preferred target audience.

The only thing worse than a Battle Royale is an Extraction Shooter. Very, very niche.
Extraction Shooters are the future of FPS. Dunno what you guys are talking about. Arena Shooters are dead. Team Shooters are dead.

I imagine the server slam will bring alot of people to the game and likely after that and closer to launch they will get a bit more aggressive with the ads

Gigabased and true.

Like it is with allof these genres, there is always one or two top games, with a lot of smaller games trying to get into the space.

We got Counter Strike for tactical shooters, we got three or four games for Battle Royallies, we got two "Top" extraction shooters, LoL and Dota for MOBA games, so on and so forth.

And we have all seen what happens to games that try to compete; They don't last long (RIP Heroes of the Storm trying to compete with LoL and Dota)

I can perhaps see this game doing fine initially, but everyone will end up one way or another going back to eirher Tarkov or Hunt Showdown. It is the nature of the market.

LOL, what?
If that were in any way true, we'd see heaps more of them being alive and active, rather than dead and abandoned.

It's a fad, just like MMOs were a fad, and after that the MOBA, and after that the Battle Royally. Next fad I anticipate will be vehicular deathmatches.
