When stating I hope he didn't ghost us again. Kyle and a Discord mod were fairly annoyed by that statement. It's a valid concern. *shakes head*
I get that he's one guy and game development is hard, especially going from one game engine to another. On top of that, I can even understand that maybe people being quick to downvote the game with negative reviews (again) after these issues arose might have impacted his mental health (again), but the guy needs to either directly communicate with the community and let us know what's going on or have a community manager that can be the go between him and the general audience. People are on the edge with how this game is being handled, especially after his last disappearance act.
I'm at the point where I went from excitedly checking every day for a new (possible) update to now I'm thinking I'll just wait till November or December again to see if the game gets another update soon (though I'll still check back for replies because I don't want to leave the discussion hanging).
Stay away, only "updating" to appeal steam rules about sales.
I pegged this game as a pump-n-dump the first time and it's sad to see it suffer such fate twice in a row. Here's hoping he comes around and uses steam more often.
Also, off-topic, but I watched the video in your review and died of laughter when you came across the lights in one location of the house and was howling when you found out all of the light fixtures were stacked on top of each other in one location of the tutorial house.
That's all there is to say really.
I don't understand how people who have owned this game since 2023 or longer don't get it. The mixed reviews (sitting at an astonishing 69%) might even lead to further sales for Kyle, which are totally undeserving. It should be mostly negative and I encourage more people to down vote this game.
He needs to work on the game in a 1 year cycle so Steam doesn't kick it out, and that's what he had been doing for the last 2 years. Don't be fooled. Just review bomb it.
If, and only if, he comes back to ACTIVELY work on the game you can always change your review...
You can't make an assumption on morality without hard evidence. Kyle himself stated that the game wasn't healthy for his mental state, so he stepped away. When it came back, people complained a lot, so I think that sent Kyle off the deep end again. I do hope he gets better.
My hope is that if he does disappear again and the game "dies" again that he'll listen to what Insym said when he played the game when it first came back. He needs to quietly work on the game (while we think it's dead) and get the game back to where it was with Unity... in fact get it further than how it was in the Unity version and everybody will be happy.
Again, I just wish he'd at least give us some form of proper communication of where his head is at/how things are going instead of leaving us guessing and losing faith in this game. All it would take is just some text from him or a community manager, but sadly we're still stuck here wondering what's happening.
At this point, I don't care about the game; I care about Kyle. I hope he gets some serious help.
If this game truly was as bad for his mental state as it was, he'd just take it down. Simple as.
If the community for this product is too toxic, he has but one to blame. Nobody forced him to become a dev, but when you sell a product you are open to criticism, especially if said product is broken. Hire another person who works on it or hire a community manager. There are other options aside from just excusing oneself and do nothing.
To me he currently comes across as a digital scam artist. If the above is too much to ask for, he should take it down and stop sales.
We can't get refunds and he continues to sell it, he ripped me off. I'm at the point where I'm fairly confident he probably isn't paying taxes on his income, seeing as he's barely able to do the basics of game dev communication, so I'm just going to report him to the HMRC.
Kyle may not give a toss, Steam may not give a toss, but you can count on the tax man always having time to come shaft you. You earned this Kyle.

Worth noting that since it's a dev build, things could be broken, there might be weird lighting if some areas hadn't been baked yet or if settings were being tweaked, etc.
