tl;dr i play it fine on kbm

I was really looking forward to this game but the fact that it doesn't allow keyboard remapping for movement is a dealbreaker for me...I always remap movement from WSAD to the arrow keys...if this is not patched I will never buy it

It's 2023. If you don't have a controller it's beyond ridiculous. These developers should hardcode KB/M play out of these games altogether.

The game plays very well on KB/M. Just because Fromsoft don't bother doesn't mean other devs don't.

It is crazy to me that a developer can spend literal years creating a game only to come up short in an area like this. I constantly find myself having issues because I am a sane person who uses ESDF in any shooter/game in general when I use a keyboard. It's your home row keys and, as any Quake player will tell you (even though most still use WASD), gives you access to a lot more keys for binds.

But I find it pretty much to be a 50% change, at best, that keybinds will actually be done correctly or fully working.

I do use a controller to play this game (playing it on Game Pass), but I 1000% support this thread.

I completely agree with your points 5, 6, and 8.

The lock-on system is a complete mess with the mouse. The game switches the locked target for you even when the mouse is moved just a little. It switch more often when your DPI is high BTW... It is insane...

Unfortunately, I can't play with it. The sad thing is that the demo is nothing like that... What a let down...

Some factors which may affect the lock on switching (untest, mouse only)

DPI of the mouse
Resolution
Frame rate
DLSS on/off
mouse speed in the game
mouse speed in windows

Ok, I found out what trigger the unwanted auto switching of locked target(mouse).
The game will not switching the locked target for you no matter what the mouse travel distance is. It is trigger by the speed of the mouse movement , which mean even the mouse is only travel / offset for a short distance (5 - 10 pixels), it will still switch to a new locked target for you when the mouse is moved fast enough(in short amount of time)...

Switching factor = travel distance / time

My math is bobo, someone should know how to fix it...

I literally have 3 built PC's in my house. Lol. I am a PC gamer first and foremost..but this type game is not really made to be played with KBM.

You are aware that people who own consoles can also own computers right? And people who own computers can own controllers?

I mean if you want to not get a controller then just don't play games like this that are obviously better with one. Just avoid it, rather than come on here crying about it.

I do agree that hard coding WASD is stupid, but still...

Mouse's wheelup and wheeldown are hardcoded to switch the currently active item (position). It cannot be remapped or disabled. This means that if you use the middle mouse button, you may accidentally switch the item.

Bug:
Mouse's wheel does not function when inside the sale items list(the rest should be fine), unless the current mouse cursor is positioned over the scrollbar.

This + azerty not handled + mouse feels like molasses even at max sensitivity and DPI = refunded.

Yes, there are ways around all this through external software, and I went through them for Dark Souls 3 and 2, and a few other games, back in the day. I no longer have that kind of patience.
