What is the general consensus on when to start the DLC?
Is it after you beat the final boss, but before you go into NG+? or just as soon as you unlock it or what? Obviously you can do whatever, I'm just curious on what the general recommended suggestion is based on peoples experiences.

you can clear it as soon as it's available; it's stingy with Ergo but gives you heaps of upgrade materials and all of the DLC equipment is good at worst. That being said, it's scaled similarly to the end of the game and there's exactly one missable thing if you do it late: the red memory on the beach changes once the DLC is complete.

As such, I think you're best off doing it right after the base game and walking past the red memory.

Ah damn, I already touched the red memory on the beach. Thanks for the heads up though. Hopefully you don't get anything extra for it and it's just visual. Sounds like I'll probably finish the base game for max quartz and the final boss weapon and then go do it. From here on out I'll probably do it as soon as it's available seeing as what you told me about the red memory, leads me to believe that the developers intent is to go do the DLC as soon as it's available. I'll probably try NG+ for the platinum, but I got pretty bored with the game when I first tried to do NG+ at launch so we will see. I appreciate the info.

Also a very negligible line from a certain NPC locked up at the bottom of Arche Abbey if you're wearing the Legendary Stalker's mask.

In NG, I'd say start it after the final boss. In NG+, try it as soon as you unlock it.

You can go back to that NPC at any time even postgame as far as I know; it's not really 'missable' in the sense that you don't get locked out of it.

It's altered dialogue.

The timing of the DLC is works out pretty conveniently for story/gameplay pacing; it's unlocked right as you get access to the chapter that piles up heaps of enhancement materials...

If it's about 100% completion, NG+ is strictly required due to the existence of the gold records anyway, even if the player savescums for alternate endings.

You can kill him after completing Venigni's questline. I can't remember if he goes completely inactive at that point as well or not.

He stays dead permanently, and it's not required for Venigni's questline either. It's a morbid choice the player can make that, in line with the themes of the story in question, is set up to feel hollow no matter what you choose.

Right. What I mean is that I'm not sure if he goes comatose before you kill him. Also, hey, free Ergo chunk :KrilEvil:

Nope, he sticks around indefinitely.
