No, absolutely not. Geppetto was a shell of a man after Camille's Death.
Camille died because she was a Listener, and ultimately a target of the dark Alchemists' (Those led astray by Simon) experiments.
Death was covered up as an explosion at the lab.
Geppetto closed off the outside world, sent Carlo to Monad home.
It looks like Geppetto created a Puppet Camille, which even more tragically awakened her Ego then was subsequently experimented on...again...by the dark Aclehmists.

After losing her mom...twice Carlo falls under the wing of Lea Monad (Legendary Stalker)
Geppetto just cuts all ties to everything because he doesn't want to bring Carlo into his despair.


"Much, Much later"

At this point, Simon's rebellion was well underway.
Simon and his goons frame Valentinus Monad for stealing the Arm of God.
"P" (Paracelsus) excommunicates Valentinus and gives him a choice; die as a man or consume an elixir and become a test subject.
It appears part of excommunication is the removal of all protections granted to the Monad family.
This appears consistent with Simon's obsession with Sophia who breaks into her room and abducts her to sit in the cage in the Alchemist's isle.
Lea and Puppet Carlo (P) find a way to defeat the Murderer Puppet, Arlecchino.
Geppetto (aligning himself with Simon for obvious reasons) arrives to clean up one last loose end, Lea herself.
He probably takes Romeo shortly after and does a similar puppet experiment on him that he did with Carlo's body to try and perfect the transfer of memories through Ergo to Romeo's P-organ; thus creating the King of Puppets.

Lea was a loose end to be culled, the last surviving member of the Monad family. The easiest way to shape the Monad Charity House as a tragedy would be to include every member of the family in the massacre and ultimate burning down of the house.

Not necessarily Lea's body, as P's body was made in the appearance of Carlo. Lea's Ergo was used, which is why P has enhanced combat prowess similar to hers, which she notes in the DLC. It also might be a reason why you get a glimpse into her memories for the scenes P is not present in.

She says his moveset is familiar because she's thinking of Carlo who she personally trained.

How do you know what she is thinking? At no point did I say P's moveset has nothing to do with Carlo the two concepts can coexist but as mentioned, the game explicitly shows Ergo carrying memories and essence, making it plausible that P inherited some of Lea's combat prowess from her Ergo. This is further supported by P's ability to relive Lea's specific past memories in the DLC

Calm down buddy. She stated to P that his moveset was similar to someone she knows hinting at Carlo her APPRENTICE.

What you're saying is also plausible.

Occam’s razor says she recognizes his fighting style because he’s effectively an amnesiac Carlo, and that’s the impression I got myself. It’s not impossible that her ergo got used in the puppet’s construction but nothing concretely points at it.

The nature of how the DLC itself is accessed is a mystery; it’s possible that Listener traits are inheritable, and they certainly put a lot of weight on the value of Listeners what with Camille. Carlo even got invited to one of the Alchemists’ meetings; it’s possible they had that in mind and that’s where he definitely accidentally caught the Petrification Disease…

I don’t think Geppetto and Simon were working together consciously, especially since the latter and whatever shady grandmaster alchemist(s) backing him were implicitly responsible for killing his wife, but he absolutely took advantage of the charity house massacre and Romeo’s death, then outschemed Simon’s plans in the base game from there.

I doubt Lea herself was a Listener though. I think she was just a talented Stalker :^)
