Wanting to try in Real Life
I actually want to try to make a beer now in real life but knowing me I mess up so badly i throw it back up. Plus it looks expensive to get everything I need and I am on SSI.

I live in NYC, so craft beer stores are easy to find here. They readily sell beginner beer making kits (jugs, buckets, hops, yeast packets etc) for about $50 or under. I'm sure you can find some online too. You really just have to make sure you have a big enough sink / tub to clean everything properly

I also live in a apartment too. Plus I am scared I will mess it up. Love the game and that's why I want to try it in real life.

Check out www.midwestsupplies.com or www.greatfermentations.com for some good deals on beginner extract brewing kits!! I've been brewing for about 10 years and was able to get started for pretty cheap and then have added on as I've gone. I've definitely made some that are better than others, but using the extract kit, following the instructions, and keeping everything clean and sanitized as you go makes it pretty hard to really mess one up enough to not be drinkable!!

Yeah I'm on my third year of brewing and just starting to use a starter mash tun to make my malt instead of buying it. IRL brewing is of course a lot more daunting and can be significantly more costly, but at least IRL we get get to drink our brews.

I'd recommend Northern Brewer for supplies as well. They're a little expensive (~100$) but I can say that I was able to make a great tasting brew as a first timer. Some things can be bought on Amazon (the Kettle, the Bottles, the Bottle Cap-er, and Carboy\Jug) but things like your yeasts, hops, sugar, etc. are all top quality there.

Start out with the simple extract kits, like the Festival World beer kits. They come with instructions, are pretty foolproof and you don't have to do much of anything except boil a few liters of water in the beginning to dissolve the extract in. And it makes good beer.

Do remember to buy some Starsan tho, everything that is in contact with the beer has to be sanitized (disinfected). Some people also put it in the airlock.

Also, check out videos on how to brew with extract kits on youtube.
Don't worry about making a mess, there is no rule that says you cant place your fermentation tub in your bathroom/shower (toilet wine anyone?).

This game is weird, It simplifies a lot of the sanitation processes but makes other things harder for some reason. And the recipes also don't translate to real recipes either. For example, you might have a real recipe that gives you crystal clear beer but if one would try that recipe in the game it's just EXTREMELY HAZY. It makes 0 sense. That being said I don't want to discourage anyone homebrewing is fun.
