Patch 0.1.4 - Discussion Thread
Since 0.1.3 introduced first changes to systems and added/changed features we would like to discuss what you like / and don't like about it here. Please share your thoughts and help us to improve them before they hit the main game.

Since 0.1.2 I stuck on the start menu unable to click anywhere and so i cannot play.

the game is crashing and turning my pc off after update

@c4ntin are you on the default branch or on the beta branch? I didn't hear that one yet. Can you click F2 to send us the bug report or doesn't that work either?
@stardust are you also on the beta branch? And if you roll back to default branch everything works? Can you also please try if you have the issues only on the bigger (2nd map)? Does map 1 work better? Also it would be helpful if you can report the issues via F2 ingame so we can check the logfile to invetigate further.

Also some general troubleshoots that helped people:
- install game on SSD not HDD
- Update graphic drivers
- cancel performance hungry tasks in the background
- run game as administrator

Some feedback.
1. Trees are hard to pick up, annoyingly.
2. AI blatantly cheats, they have infinite Mana, I feels. They spamming spells all over the place. NOT FUN AT ALL. He have 40 believers and ONE settlement but he use spell like no tomorrow. While I have 450 mortals and the whole map.
3. Can you make it clear on how we convert Mortals from other Gods?? I look at them and I want an indicator on how close I am from converting them from other god. Hell, I don't even know what power type (good or evil) to use on them. Or how much it effect them. Bruh, I don't even think it working at all.
4. "Mortal Protection Altar" does absolutely nothing beside Mana generation. I just lighting strike a mortal to death while he was standing NEXT TO THE ALTAR. It was MY altar that GOT TAKEN AWAY, by the way. The settlement it was in got converted. So I tried to use some spell to see if the Altar really do anything. IT DOESN'T.
Also, we can't build this Altar in a "City" type settlement too. So City can't be protect? (assuming the Altar actually works.)
5. Night time cricket sound...IT LOUD AND ANNOYING. Also, the spell sound effect is also loud, mainly the Lighting Strike. And we use it a lots.
6. "Manipulation: Move Resource" Can you make it so we don't have to move 1 by 1? Currently, 1. I click settlement > 2. camera jump up > 3. I click target settlement > 4. repeat step 1. And the camera just keep jumping up and down and up and down. IT MAKING ME DIZZY!!
7. Migrate Mortal...Is it 1 mortal at a time???? Bruh, can I have an option to migrate, like, I don't know, 10 people at a time?? It have the same camera BS like the number 6.
8. AOE uses of spells casting time is too long. Can I like, hold shift to make it faster, almost instant? And the radius is a bit small but that's not big of a deal, the casting time is the problem. Also the Love spell, can you make it AOE-able? Just consume Mana according to numbers of Mortals effected.
9. Pause menu. Why you have to switch it to that? Like the main menu page? Why?? It just lag my game/computer. Just pause the game and dim the screen and slap the menu texts on the middle of the screen like any other game when pause menu, bruh.
And what is it? Is it a video or the game simulating it? If it the later then that unnecessary resource use.
10. Main menu page. When I start the game or loading the game, it take so much time but that's ok. Not a big deal. But the damn video (the Mortals running around and stuffs) are still playing while the game are loading. And the video getting freeze and unfreeze over and over as the game are loading thing. Annoyance and dizziness is hitting me, man. Just stop the video and switch it into some still image, like a nice artwork or something.
11. I save mid-day in-game and the game said "Might take a while."....Yeah, its 20 minutes and it still saving... It not responding, bruh.
12. Night time the screen turn blue...for what? Just to tire/hurt my eyes? It already dark, I gets it already that it's night time. And if you gonna say "to let you see better." for what? The things the player can interact during night time are the settlement center and the buildings. Which is already easy to see. Mortal for migration orders? Maybe but refer to number 7. I don't even want to use that order just because how annoying to use.
13. During combat, it hard to tell who is getting effect by my spells. Is that enemy soldier or my soldier? Do negative spell effect my own troops too? What about positive spell? Does it effect enemies as well as my troops?? (Yes, positive effect on both sides. I saw it. Not sure about negative spell though.)
14. Why do the Mortals have to wait for the next day before they start building stuffs?? Why??? Or if it not the next day then it took them half a day before they even start to work if I place the order in the morning.
15. "Trade Tent"...no, it is NOT a "Trade". It just sends things with nothing in return unless I build another "Trade" tent in the target settlement. And the description is a bit confusing. "Set resource to be traded" and I was like "Do I set these to SEND them to the target or to RECEIVE them from the target settlement????"
Just rename it to "Transport Tent", bruh.
16. The "City" basic resource are entirely imports. But the import numbers from the "Trade Tent" are small, it feel insignificant. So in order to transport more basic resource, I need to build more Trade Tent, yeah? But what about the workers? Build more shacks? Problem: Building space...And base number of workers for the essential buildings (food and mines and barracks and tavern) of that settlement.

I don't even want to continue playing the current build anymore with all of these things. Especially the cheating AI.
I never have such a long list of feedback like this before in any game I plays...
I never gets to play the Original Black and White so this is entirely no comparing to the old game.

Hi Shiny_Stone,

Before I go into detail regarding your feedback first of all thank you for the effort and writing down that extensive list. One more thing, are you on the beta branch or on the default branch?
Okay, let’s jump into it:

1. Trees are hard to pick up, annoyingly.

- We are already working on this with multi-pick and collider adjustments to allow fast and easy drag and drop. The multi-pick and speedup drag and drop will be already available in a first version in the next patch!

- We will have a look – the balancing might be a little off. Do you feel that the game difficulty is too hard in general or is specifically the amount of AI wonders? And on what difficulty level are you playing?

- Yes, better UI to understand the status of mortals is definetely needed and planned!

-we have currently some cases where the protection altar is not working properly (seems to be a bug), but please also consider that the altar has a limited amount of wonder protection per day, once this is gone it is not protecting any more, but I guess we need to make this better represented in the world if a protection altar is still active or not.
We are currently preparing an asset for cities, too. Currently it is not in the game.

- we already adjusted several sounds like the villager cheering etc.. We will also have a look into the wonders.

- yes, definitely already talked about internally and will be adressed during EA.

- will be part of the recently introduced multi grab of followers with the god hand, allowing to migrate more followers at once by picking them up and dropping them in another village/city, this is than also available at daytime (all in the next patch)

- We began reworking/improving the multicast, in the future we also want to multi to be able to select just followers or other mortals for whatever usecase players need it.
Improving the cast time is also prt of the last beta branch patch, but we want to speed things up more, if that’s the feedback!

- That sounds like a bug. Do you have installed the game on an SSD? Saving times shoudln’t take so long by far.

- The night is being reworked entirely and will soon launch on the beta branch. Happy to hear more feedback regarding the night afterwards and whether you like the changes.

- Yes, we are still thinking about the right solution here either 3D asset , UI or UX-wise.

- In the upcoming patch this is fixed, two mortals will start working directly.

- We will rework the whole trading / resource exchange transportation system to strongly simplify things here!

- We will provide options to extend your building space soon!

While obviously those additions that are upcoming won't solve your issues immediately we are confident that we are on the right way and that the playing experience will be way smoother with them. Still that doesn't mean that any progress / features are final then. It's just the first steps and with more time we hope to further improve. Thank you for your support!

It's feel very good to see that my feedback has been acknowledged.
I'm playing on the current Early Access version release. No modification (I don't even know about any other release built, Beta branch or whatever that is.)

I see that most of the feedback are being work on. Very good.
The biggest problem is the cheating AI. I plays on "Normal" difficulty on a 1v1 map. If it not cheating and actually being limited by Mana system and all. a.k.a. being fair. I would return to the game.

Also, the Mortal Protection Altar. Not only that it need change to visually indicate it being active. It also need to change the text in the tool tips, saying how many times it can protect per day or per workers or something.
Have the crystals thing be floating when it active. Have it stop and/or stick into a pile at the top of the altar not moving when inactive.

About the save. I can just wait for night time auto save. It work fine with those.

The game still have a loooooooooong way to go. Good luck on the developments.
