YOU ARE NOT AUTHORIZED TO PLAY ON STEAM FIX
Hello everyone,

This is a very common problem since Gamespy shut down years back. On steam, after playing one game online, you will get a message between changing maps or connecting to a new server, saying;

"Sorry, you do not appear to be authorized to play this game on Steam at this time."

or

"Connecting" forever.

To fix this, go to you steam library, then right click on Unreal Tournament 3: Black edition. Click on Properties, then the LOCAL FILES Tab.

Double Click the Binaries folder, then find a file called UT3.exe. Right click on it, create a shortcut, then DRAG the shortcut to your desktop. Open UT3.exe on your desktop to play UT3 for now on.

Not a developer. They're an EPIC community manager, so a moderator according to their profile they just use the developer tag in the discussions :weepingface:

Would be nice to see real developers for Unreal games responding to topics though.

I suspect Epic Games are far too busy elsewhere to look back on old titles. Especially on competitors platforms.
(The market, and Epic Games have really changed since the glory days of the Unreal games)

all games of the Unreal Tournament franchise are stopped from Epic and there servers are still down!
Only Unreal Tournament 1999 is still playable for online multiplayer. Also the Game Toxikk. is like Unreal Tourn. 3, so play this one..

For instance nowadays both Unreal Tournament 4 computer game/video game series and Jazz Jackrabbit 3D are powered by Unreal Engine seems to be both unfinished(history of Fortnite Battle Royale Era in nutshell)unfortunately. At least maybe Unreal Tournament 4 could be finished on Microsoft Windows 11 PC or Windows 12…etc. Right?
