Once unlocked, obviously and the unlock is... somewhat late in the game.
So, early to midgame, you wanna pick em up when you see them so you can build all the stuff you need before the endgame grind to do the ending quest that will need a lot of them.
And, bonus, that way we can leave the pretty little wild ones out there to shine. I quite like them, and the hanging flower-lights - well, they're just awesome. Wish we could grow 'em ourselves... maybe one day! There's some really pretty vegetation popping up... :-D
There's no desks with chairs, no server racks, microscopes, other scientific equipment, racks of barrels, etc.
SO MANY SET PIECES but we can't build any of them. We really need them added as buildable structures. They would really make bases pop and look alive.
They already have all the 3d models and everything all made up, all they need to do is just code them so they can be deconned and add them to the list of things we can build.
Maybe make it so that they only show up in the construction list if you equip a certain microchip and make them all cheap to construct, like 1 iron or 1 titanium or something.
Yeah, but I'm pretty sure a lot of the set pieces you see on Tox are not unlockable even if you explore wrecks. SOME things are, like some of the chairs, a fridge or two, bonsai trees, etc... but I don't remember seeing anywhere near half of the stuff you see in those bases.
Or how about the buildings themselves?
There's no 2x1 living compartment, and certainly none that look like the buildings on Tox. If you try to make such a building yourself by putting two 1x1s together, you get these annoying ribs in the middle that ruin the look.
On a related note, is there any reason to clean the water? Does it affect the purification progress in any way? You'd think it would, but it seems like it only tracks areas de-goo'd/total goo cleared. I cleansed a water body near my base so I could plop down a couple of algae collectors, but I haven't bothered purifying most of the other bodies of water I have run across.
I have all the furniture, and yes we deconstructed certain furniture and it gave the BP..
it beats me how and why since back when I played Prime 1 1/2 years ago we could search out wreaks and own certain furniture, all the BP I kept throughout my playing over all the planets and moons, I still have, I also started a new save with Toxicity and still everything is in my BP.
All the Biomass -Machines base building. These ae what I found, furniture for bedroom lounge kitchen. Add in the magic cloth to change the color.

The furniture shown in your screenshot does not include the stuff I'm talking about.
I'm talking about the various lab equipment, server racks, desks with computers on them, etc that you see in scattered about.
Did you find the training area where Sentinel hired somebody to start planning the whole 'Planet Crafter" scenario? They were specifially told to decide what modules to limit construction to, so as to save as many Terra Tokens as possible - and there was a bunch of miniature models scattered about of the basic buildings and tools in our Q menu...
I'm thinking that might explain somewhat, our limitation in some of the stuff we can build. From the sounds of it, the unlockables you did find, were the ones added some months back to the portal wrecks, the idea being that we could then find and use these new pieces whether Sentinel okayed it or not...
I'm with you in that it sure would be nice to be able to unlock some of the new buildings and tools we see here on Toxicity though... lovely dream, here's hoping! :-)
That's why I suggested allowing us to deconstruct these objects to get blueprint chips so that we can build them ourselves, just like how some of the ones in the random wrecks work.
Only, I kinda wish that most materials didn't come out of it. I don't need iron, cobalt, etc when I decon those objects in random wrecks. The smart fabric is nice, but the rest of the stuff is totally unnecessary and just ends up being inventory spam. I just want the chip, nothing else (except for the aforementioned smart fabric or similar materials).
New products, new things that couldn't be built or grown without them.
I just dump all that extra stuff back into the blue crates, lol! Seems efficient (although I just might be fooling myself, but hey, why not, eh? ;-p )
I have to agree... they so much as told us that they had something in mind for after they've finished with all the little fixes and QOL updates and such they mentioned wanting to do... I'm quite curious as to just what it will turn out to be... whatever it is, I am quite sure it will be fun! ;-D
