I had my game crash on me once. There might be some glitches that need to be fixed. For instance one achievement seems to be bugged for me and some other people, it just won't unlock.
Hope they release a patch or something.

Nope i cannot get past a scene at the start of the game, the logs don't say much outside of tranistioning the game to a "normal" mode and unloading the scene data. Any attempt at attaching a debugger just is for naught since it triggers a breakpoint almost immediately when attached.... better off filling as support request with Manga gamer honestly

Crashes every five minutes on scene transitions and I can only really get through the game by holding the skip button... which isn't exactly the experience I was looking for

Judging by the crash logs, and I've had a few, it looks like there's a memory leak problem. It's a pretty serious error to have not caught this in beta, but they'll probably patch it soon enough. If you're have crashes at random points, the best advice now is to save frequently and exit the program every so often - it will release the memory and on startup, it can go for a while longer without a crash.

Yeah, I just ran into a crash nearly immediately after loading the game. Seems pretty clear to me this game needs to be patched and I have no idea how something like this could have been missed in testing.

The game just crashed for me when I tried to load "Formation of a Club".

It seems we now need to save our games because the game might stop working.

Just had my game crash too. Never had an issue before with any of the other episodes so pretty disappointing.

In case anyone was wondering, the updates just recently released do not resolve the crashing issue.

OK Guys! For those who are still having the crashing issue or any other in-game issues, please report it directly to the publisher by e-mailing them a copy of the game's debug log so they can dive deeper into the crashing issue. The debug log file "output_log.txt" can be accessed by navigating into the game's installation directory -- steamapps/common/Higurashi When They Cry Hou - Ch.8 Matsuribayashi/HigurashiEp08_Data

Each and every one of you will have to e-mail them directly in order to bring this matter to the publisher's attention! I'm not sure if they are even looking through the steam forums as they have yet to make any posts here. You'd definitely get a response from them if you contact them through e-mail.

Dunno if it's the same problem you're all having but mine would stop responding on scene transitions. I started a new game after the last patch and it hasn't happened yet so many try that? If it doesn't or isn't the same problem sorry.

I managed to get much further doing that too, just restarting new game and getting to Fragments part but it still crashes randomly so I've had to save after every fragment scene. It's a pain in the ass because when it freezes at a scene, ANY SCENE POTENTIALLY, you lose your progress and have to reread everything again to unlock etc etc.

It is also one of the simplest VNS...little to no CGs, no CG gallery, no voicing....how this bug happened is really ironic, considering the later chapters have become almost yearly releases.

I had crashes too, every few minutes. The error log gave hints towards memory leaking, so i used
ntcore's 4GB patcher on it and that solved the problems. No more crashes. You can download it here:
