CR: I was playing a Japan game with the 867 start. There was a battle in Tsugaru and I had just engaged in a siege when the game died. I'm running a series of mods (3; although 2 regarding names are nonfunctional--which just leaves one that adds additional character graphics for asian ethnicities, especially regarding hairstyles). On the whole, I'll note that the game is buggy. Many messages were simply dropped or never appeared during game play. Not sure if its the mods or the additional DLCs I picked up.
Beyond the error, some thoughts I had. The borders are too porous, especially for the 9th century start. I would expect Chinese and Korean immigrants to Japan at this time to quickly switch to Japanese names based on their names' characters. For Japanese girl names, there's an excessive use of "ko" (child) at the end. During this time period adding an "O" at the beginning instead would have been just as prevalent. The male names are also missing out on endings like "maro," "zaemon," "uemon," "rō,", "tarō", and a few others that are often paired up with numbers or adjectives in a distinctly different pattern than what one might expect. Also not clear why the Japan map doesn't at least have a barony for Iki province. As a Japanophile more detail would have been nice. During the time period the game runs in, Iki, Iga, Izu, Izumi, Wakasa, and Shima would have all been distinct provinces in their own rights despite having relatively tiny land allotments.
If I am lucky to be able to save, I can play for a solid 15 min before it randomly crashes.
I have AMD 9070XT and AMD Ryzen 7, so it should not be a hardware problem...
