IIRC, quest target/giver do not show up until you are ready to turn it in.

Edit: just confirm it. The Night Hunt quest target/giver will not show up until you are done and ready to turn it in. I'm not sure if it is intended to be that way or not.

Not a bug. Like pdoan8 says, it'll show the quest target once you killed the amount of wolves they ask for.

So you just kill some wolves somewhere? The quest giver was in a town, so why wouldn't the quest be near that town? If it's just wherever then the quest should say that.

Night hunt usually request any combination of boar, wolf, bear. I'm not sure of the number of animal would depend in your character hunting skill or not. My last quest request 9 animals, and my character have level 10 hunting. Boar and wolf pack is usually 2-4, bear is mostly single (except one spawn point). So, you might have to travel around the area to get the requested number as you hunting skill improve.

IIRC, Night Howl is an early side quest only given by someone in Gostovia, and specifically request 2-3 wolves.

Indeed, location doesn't matter for the quest. Any wolf will do.

The quest text should say that. The way it happens in the game it definitely implies it's one village that has that issue.
