What kind of RTS?

Is this a space equivalent to AoE style RTS? - build troops and send them and destroy.
Might be a silly question, but recently played Dawn of War which is more hero type RTS for me, with small hero like troops over big armies.

Yes it is exactly like that. The only difference with a full RTS is that you can find loot and you can use that to customize your ships. You dont have to; the default ships are fine. But if you want you can use this to custimise up to 10 units. These 10 units then become the units you can build ingame. Building buildings etc is the same as in AOE (here you need a surveyor to expand your build area, or just build close to friendly structures). Hoep this helps!

Thank you so much for the reply.
That is insane btw, I never knew it was one of those RTS.
Saying that, steam needs to bump this game higher.
I'll be purchasing a copy my side, and good luck with the future updates also!

Edit: I see there is even workshop support (that's insane), busy installing the game now. Amped.
