The float bug is known and has been here for a long time.. It seems that when you get a bite on float some times it resets, it is rare though. Wait with right clicking to hook the fish until you are sure it is on.

With a casting rod i have never seen it i think, so you might be doing something wrong in the department.

Davser, its not a bug, its intended behaviour, stop lying !
Maybe his float is just overweighted with too large bait and drops to bottom because of that?

I think you could be right on that one Grim... Check if your float isn't overweight.

There was a thread 3-4 months back when Greyling Black was rated.
It's know to Devs, is a bad bite by the fish and no fault of the player. The game mechanics just don't align with it, nor does the chatlog. Can happen on Fly-Fishing too
