Severe lag after 20+ minutes or so when looking in certain direction
When I start the game and go into editor/scenario/whatever, for about 20 minutes everything is fine. Then out of nowhere the FPS drops to the high 10s and low 20s, but only when I look in a certain direction (out of 360 degrees it seems like half of it causes the framerate drop). This happens on all maps. Going back to main menu and reloading the editor/scenario doesn't seem to fix the issue, but it does change the direction I need to look to lag the game, it seems to be random each time.

So far the only fix I've found is restarting the game entirely but that's WAY too annoying. I saw an old post on Bohemia forums about a similar issue and it mentioned changing the memory allocator, but I had no luck with that and changing the graphics settings in game didn't have any effect. I know it's not my GPU/CPU thermal throttling. I also don't remember this being an issue on Windows, but it can't be Linux either because I remember playing this on Linux back in October and this wasn't a problem. My system itself is up to date, but my drivers aren't (I tried updating my GPU drivers and it seemed to fix this particular issue, but introduced several other problems that weren't there before). Is there another way to fix this that doesn't involve updating my nvidia drivers?

Linux Mint 22 (running through Proton 9.0-4)
i5-9600k (overclocked)
16GB DDR-2400
GTX 1050ti
SSD
Drivers are version 550.144.03

Update. I tried vanilla without mods for about 20 minutes, no lag. I reloaded with my mods enabled and I've found out that the direction I have to look to lag the game seems to be towards the sun. I loaded up Chernarus and it was early morning (and looking east towards the sun lagged it after a few minutes), so I changed it to evening and it flipped it so I needed to look west towards the sunset for the same effect.

I experimented with changing the weather settings all to zero because I thought it might be wind/waves/clouds interacting in a weird way, and that seemed to fix it. Then I reapplied the weather settings from before, and no lag. I don't have any mods enabled that change the weather or lighting (or how it works), so I have no idea whats going on. I'll try and find other ways to fix this.

Final(?) update. The one graphics settings I overlooked (FSAA) was the culprit. Had it set to 8x, and when I lowered it to 4x it sat at mid-30s fps instead of high 10s. Turned off FSAA entirely and instead used PPAA/FXAA Standard. I've been playing for several hours now, and no lag so far (no more than usual anyways). I don't know why exactly it was FSAA acting so strangely, but my guess is it probably has something to do with the new performance update.
