I've only played Evil West for a little bit, but I've come across a bug that has kept me from progressing forward any further.

Shortly after setting fire to the archives and escaping, you come across your first vampire(s) to fight in a small firey arena. Right after that, I received a notice that I had a skill upgrade, and the game forces you to go to the upgrade menu. In the menu, it wants me to purchase an electric skill upgrade, but I can do nothing on this screen. I can hold down A to activate the perks, but nothing registers. I can swipe between skill menus with the triggers, but no other button will get me out of this screen.

I've reloaded the game and played through it multiple times but it always hits this wall. It makes the game unplayable because I can't progress... any suggestions out there?
