That error message will show if the banner image file is too large or if the banner image file does not exist (for example if it was deleted after the course was loaded). Somehow one of these things is sometimes not right when using the generate banner functionality. I haven't been able to re-create this myself.

If the error is still occurring when you try to publish to the workshop, I would be interested to see the banner image file for the course. Courses are saved at:

My Documents\My Games\MiniGolf Maker\Courses

Each folder contains the files for a single course. The banner image is saved as banner.jpg. You can look through these folders to see if the banner image file for the course is bigger than 1MB, or if you'd like you can create a zip file from the Courses folder and send it to us at support@roadturtlegames.com

The Banner JPG was never created in the course folder. I created a JPG that was square and named it BANNER.JPG, I put that file into the course folder and I was able to upload to the workshop.

Ok, thank you for the info. I have updated the error messages to be more informative and I will keep this issue on my radar. The updated error messages will be in update 2019.3.8
