In terms of assets Bakin comes with quite a lot for free if you look at the DLC, BUT yet to give out a character generator DLC. DO NOT hold your breath for one any time soon either, it's EA, bugs and issues will get sorted first, the bells and whistles iwll come much later.
As far as Bakin negating simplicity, in fact.. it doesnt, it says it can do exactly what it says it can do out of the box. IF you want to learn extra 3D modelling/Unity/Blender or any other creation program then thats your decision, not Bakin making you do that.
with generator or not you will have to learn to use external software if you want to make something original, so I believe that this kind of thing is not a priority.
this is certainly why the engine has the 2D sprites option.
Exactly, and that's my point i was trying to make to 'DownSyndicate' (even though i got his point) the developers are giving you a tool/engine that makes things easier to make an rpg with given assets, you DO NOT have to go outside of the engine to create a game. All the extras is YOUR OWN personal needs NOT the developers OR the engines.
But I agree.. that with engines such as this.. if you want diversity, and your game to stand out from others and NOT looking like the hundreds of RPG Maker games that look exactly the same you HAVE to look outside of the engine itself and use other tools there's no way around that.. its the same for every other game engine on the planet.
You always have the option to outsource for 3D objects that are free to use in commercial games and import those into Bakin, it's not hard at all.. it just takes time to google search for things, or costs if you want stuff made custom.. OR just do it yourself.
